Car clutch in gear trouble?

hey everyone i have a 1995 Holden commodore vs series one manual OK sorry this is quite hard to explain recently my cars clutch has started to go so its burning out however i cannot seem to make the car move at all if the clutch has burned out on a manual car it is still possible to drive without a clutch isn't it but when i do that specific technique where you put the car in 1st gear and turn it off then turn it on and sort of quickly push the accelerator it will go but my car seems to do nothing at all example when i turn the car off and leave it in first gear and do not push the clutch down how you normal would the car does not jump forward at all just sits there like it is in neutral it starts perfectly and such just doesn't move at all in gear. People have suggested to me it could be the fly wheel or the transmission but where not quite sure P.S its a cable clutch if that helps a bit anyway thanks for anyone opinions on this sorry if it is confusing and doesn't make sense its quite hard to explain
