Criminal Justice Student with a question?

I'm a 19 year old college mexican american student. I'm studying to be a sheriff right now, I"ll be getting my degree en less than 2 years in Criminal Justice. I grew up In the Coachella valley, its down south cali about 1 & 30 mins away from the border (Mexicalii) and 2 hours north from Los Angeles. Were i grew up is an area that people, friends, neighboors, and at school would talk alot and get involve with drugs, the druglords, Corridos (song that tlak about drugs, history & crime between the cartels in mexico) so pretty much i was having a **** up life and i even started to slang and see how quick money was being made. After greaduation i move away and now i want t become a sheriff, after looking back and thinking i was pretty stupid becase the things i was doign and i didnt want to have a **** up life. Criminal justice interests me alot, a like it but now i dont know if i would be a hipocritc to myself, and friends and to were i grew up if i became a sheriff. This has been bothering me but i just wanted to trow it out there and see what others peoples opinion are
