Extreme vomiting while pregnant?

My sister is about 7 weeks pregnant and has been vomiting violently all day. She can't keep anything down. Not even soup. She has taken her nausea medicine but just trows it up. We called her doctor and we're waiting on him to call us back. Should I just take her to the ER?
