My 2001 VW bug is stalling BIG TIME, HELPPPP!!!!!?

Whenever I start to accelerate my Bug stalls and (the best way I can describe it is...) it trows itself backwards and then forward really fast giving me a whiplash feeling. I have no idea whats going on but there is definitely something wrong!
